ABOUT THE GALLERY
The Ann Coleman Gallery first began in August of 2007 on the 2nd Floor at 22 West Main Street, Wilmington Vermont, featuring the representational work of Ann Coleman. Her subject matter focuses primarily on Vermont landscapes, local scenes and images from the garden, with the use of vivid, brilliant color. Ann's commissioned portraits also grace the walls of homes across many countries. She has been a resident and painter of the Mount Snow Valley for over 34 years.
Before Opening her own Gallery, Ann traveled doing shows from Florida to Maine. In December of 2009 Ann & her husband purchased a small derelict building @ 23 West main Street in Wilmington, Vermont, that they gutted and renovated with the guidance of Linesync Arcitecture. This beautifully transformed space became the new Ann Coleman Gallery which was an Artist's Collective Space housing the work of 7 local artists/artisans. In August of 2011 the flood waters of Tropical Storm Irene's hit Vermont with a vengeance and washed the entire newly renovated Gallery and all it's Art contents into the Deerfield River, dispersing it up to 5 miles down the Lake Whitingham.
The Gallery reopened its door for business on February 2, 2013 @ a temporary location of 7 North Main Street, in Downtown Wilmington. This location was the home to ten local artists. These artists included: Petria Mitchell- landscape oil painter, Jason Breen- fine furniture & woodworker, Lori Rich- jeweler of fine silver & sea glass, Joan Lovell- india ink & clay-board as well as oils, Irma Hawkins- primitive steel cut painted figures, Patricia Doris- jeweler of fine silver and semi precious stones, Mary Angus- exquisite glass blower, Mark Littlehales- pastels as well as wall hanging, wood assemblages & sculptures, Caryn King- painter of farm animals and Ann Coleman- Pastel Originals & Giclee prints. This Collective Gallery closed 11/1/13.
Ann dreams of the day when she will have her Ann Coleman Collective "Ark" Gallery built, that she hired Linesync Architecture and Steven's Engineering to design her at 23 West Main Street, Wilmington, Vermont.
